Stripes and Whiskers

Today I got two new fish to help clean my tank. They are Cory cats. One is named Stripes and the other is named Whiskers. When I was on my way home, Stripes poked a little hole in the bag. Water started dripping on me and the bag started getting smaller and smaller. I noticed that the bag was starting to lose air. Finally I got home and my so I put the fish bag in the fish tank so they could get used to the water temperature. A hour later I let them out of the bag. They seem to be fine and are checking out their new home. They don't get very big so if you want a small fish to keep your tank clean, Cory fish are a good choice. Mine only get up to 2 in a half inches long. Here is a website about Cory fish. whttp://www.aqua-fish.net/show.php?h=corydoras

Beautiful day

Today was an absolutely beautiful day! It definitely feels like Spring to me. The birds came back and are singing, the snow is melted, and it's warm and sunny out! My swamp is filling up with water again because of the snow and ice melting! I was walking through a pathway and saw a lot of feathers on the ground which means that something ate or at least tried to eat it. I also found a Hummingbird nest on the ground. It was in pretty good shape but it either fell or something knocked it down. I hope tomorrow looks and feels even more great and springy! I wish I had taken pictures but I wasn't able too. I also had a pretty good time at church this morning and tonight. :)

Deer!

Yesterday as the sun was low in the sky, I was watching 10 White-Tailed deer. They were all does (female deer.) I took some pictures and even got a video of them. They were all in my big backyard way back in the field. Those does were quite a beautiful sight to see. As the little bit of light shined on them they ate little plants on the ground. My sister had a friend over and they  had a bad idea in their heads. They were going to chase the deer hoping to get up close and touch one. Of course their plan failed and the deer leaped away. Even though deer are most likely to run away from you,They can still hurt you. They can step on you or the males can get you with his antlers. So chasing deer is not a good idea. They are not likely to hurt you so don't be afraid if you see a deer walking through your yard. Just watch them and enjoy the moment of seeing the beautiful deer prancing around.

Blue Bird of paradise

I love the Blue Bird of paradise! The males have brilliant colors of blue, black and orange. I love the way the males display. They dance for a female and show off their feathers in a way that makes it look like a big face! The females are mostly brown with some white on their belly. They are amazing birds! I am very sorry but I do not know very much about the Blue Bird of paradise. It is very interesting when it dances and so I decided to have a link listed here so you can watch a video of one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3f5p6Ero-I    I hope you enjoy it!

They look beautiful. Sometimes they have more than one color. Some might be plain yellow and others might be white and purple. Gray Fox

Do you like Urocyon cinereoargenteus? The are also known as Gray foxes. Gray foxes live to be about 5-10 years. They are omnivores. They eat small mammals, carrion, fish, insects, nuts and fruit. They have about 1-7 kits once a year in April and May. They live in forest, river valleys and rocky outcrops.  They are gray and have rusty red shoulders and chest. They have  a white chin, neck and belly.Gray foxes are mostly nocturnal. Urocyon is Greek for tailed dog. Cinereoargenteus is Latin for gray and black. I saw a Gray fox the other day and it was awesome! It wanted to eat my chickens. It would of, but my Husky/German Shepard dog chased it away. I have binoculars and they work great! I saw it run away. They are uncommon to see where I live! So I probably won't see any soon. I wish I had some pictures, but the camera was upstairs.  Here is a link that will show you pictures and that will tell you more about them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gray_fox
