Red-winged Blackbird

Don't you love the song of the Red-winged Blackbird? I sure do! Their scientific name is Agelaius phoeniceus.  Red-winged Blackbirds eat seeds and insects.Males are black with red and yellow shoulders.The females are heavily streaked with brown and have a light brown head. They migrate to Mexico. They lay about 4 eggs. The eggs are a blue green color with brown marks.Red-winged Blackbirds are about 8 inches.Red-winged Black birds can be in flocks of 100,000 birds! I love the beautiful songs of the Red-winged Blackbird!!!
