Rain,Rain go away...

It's now October, such a wonderful month! It hasn't been dry here in Michigan though. It's been raining a lot! It rained this morning and the skies  are still gray, as the ground is holding puddles here and there. The wind is blowing and the temperature is dropping. Right now the temperature is not to hot and not to cold. It's just right. The tree's are all turning bright red, yellow, and orange. For some reason my Pine trees are turning yellow and dropping their needles.I don't know why though. This is a short post but I hope you like it! Go outside and make a leaf pile, find acorns, watch geese and Sandhill Cranes migrate, whatever you do Have Fun!

  1. I haven't seen any cranes flying over, but we have a lot of geese flying south. Did you ever find out how far south they fly>
Where do the Robin's go for the winter?
We had part of the storm today too, then it got colder. We still have beautifully colored trees but the heavy wind and rain will blow all the leaves to the ground soon.
Pine trees drop needles in the fall too, it makes the ground nice and soft and protects the seedlings that will come back in the spring.
Today I'm watching for some of the birds to show up, I just filled the feeders, they'll be here soon.
I love the fall weather but it gets dark to early now. But it's nice during the day, I still have the windows open during the day to let the cool breeze in the house.
